Agallah----The Red V

Agallah-The Red V--(2013)
Artist: Agallah
Album: The Red V
Label: Independent
Producers: Artist, The Alchemist, Oh No
Agallah has been doing this for years since the underground classic opuses “Ghetto Girl” and “Alize 4 Dolo” including the Game Recording smash tag teaming it with The Alchemist on the innovative “Crookie Monster”. Agallah is a hip hop wizard who can make a classic beat and have the average listener nodding for days. If you have to name one of the best producers in the game, it has to go to Agallah hands down. Now Agallah hits ya with the mixtape featuring DJ J. Ronin titled The Red V.
If you know Agallah’s music, it’s that addictive beat nodding production and the slick lyrical cadence. The interesting part of this mixtape is Agallah can fit anywhere in the circle. Tracks like “Coat of Arms” featuring Tristate, Planet Asia and Rocko has him on that west coast vibe while the smooth hypnotic track “Sky High” featuring Pop Off is self-explanatory for the weed heeds. Agallah spits the real lyricism on this: I don’t wrote poetry, poetry writes me/you cats don’t excite me, there is nothing like me/show you what the difference is, tell you where your spirit is/give you the business, I’m one of the best lyricist.  Agallah’s production brings out his lyrical flow and his guest appearances. The high inspired energized track “Where Things Can Go” brings Agallah to the forefront of his life experiences in the game being around hell and back from Brownsville to toasting to the good life. Now you know where things get tough, things will musically pop off. Agallah gets gully really quick on the Alchemist moody grimy track “Identity Theft” Agallah lets the know cats know that pretty boy shit doesn’t impress anyone.
The guest appearances fit like a glove. As mentioned, Agallah’s production will bring out the energy and “Haterz Are Madd” featuring Boot Camp Clik’s general Sean Price and Wu-Tang’s leadoff hitter rhyme slinger Inspectah Deck is self-explanatory with the hard ominous beat and the fire lyrical flow while “Simon Bar Sinister” featuring Supernatural has that dark sound with the ringing bell within the beat that brings the freestyle giant Supernatural bodying this track. You can also hear the piano infusion in the beats like “Come On” and the head nodding “Slaughter” featuring Murdoc has the awesome kicks and a ridiculous beat pattern.
The mixtape has some gems on it and Agallah continues to impress the audience. The guest appearances came through that gives the mixtape a boost. Majority of the production is Agallah and he has never missed a step with the assistance of Alchemist and Oh No. The minor thing is the mixtape is 19 songs too long which may cause musical fatigue. This only happens to the new hip hop heads that don’t understand musical hip hop theory. For the real heads, length songs don’t matter if most of them are hip hop bangers. The Red V fits that bill of pure hip hop production. Agallah does swing the west coast feeling while still sticks to the east coast Brownsville roots. This mixtape is the warm up for the anticipated album Red Velvet.
