Brooklyn’s MC Busta Rhymes has been the underrated rapper with his fast tempo delivery and catchy punch lines. Now sign with southern label Cash Money, this is the ninth studio album from legendary Busta Rhymes as his conglomerates are coming back with a full length album. Busta Rhymes is not new to the game as he laced up a gem of an album.
Tracks that stand out on this really show some persistence. The lead single “King Tut” featuring Reek da Villain and J.Doe is a tough track with an improved Jahlil beats on the boards. The most impressive tracks on the album is the radio beat friendly “Doin It Again” featuring Reek da Villain and Chanel while “Make It Look Easy” outshines the album with an old school 90’s beat with a current flow. Busta of course killed the track but Gucci Mane surprisingly rides the track with persistent flow. However, there are some tracks easily dwindle the album’s consistency. The first track “I’m Talking To You” starts off with a lukewarm sample that makes it difficult for Busta to shine. “Love, Hate” featuring Robin Thicke is a forgettable miserable R&B crossover track which fell really flat and easily pressing the skip button while tracks like “Movie” and “Crazy” have a repetitive baseline which is a total mismatch.
This album sounds like a collaboration mixtape more than an album. Although not consistent and not memorable like his previous classic albums When Disaster Strikes or Extinction Level Event or as cohesive as the Big Bang Theory, this album is not a disappointment. It’s hard being a veteran in the game trying to keep the old school fans while appeasing the new school fans simultaneously. Let’s hope his forthcoming Extinction Level Event 2 makes up for this subpar effort.
Strong Tracks: “King Tut”, “Make It Look Easy”, “Doin It Again”
            Weak Tracks: “Movie”, “Crazy”, “Love,Hate”
