R.E.A.L---Write Bros 2

R.E.A.L.-Write Bros 2-Independent-(2013)
Artist: R.E.A.L. (Reality Ends All Lies)
Album: Write Bros 2
Label: Independent
Producers: Volatile, Sharp, Rediculus, J57, The Kamen Biz
Every time I hear music outside the five boroughs, I get intrigued by their sound. This includes the Roc-city aka Rochester at the 585 which puts out quality music. The impressive sounds of Kidd Called Quest got artists looking for him. Straight out that area code of 585 is a hip hop duo called R.E.A.L the acronym stands for Reality Ends All Lies. This group is not new to the hip hop game consists of producer/emcee Volatile and emcee Lava. After a few listens of their material, you can get hooked easily. With an impressive Write Bros mixtape under their belt with major buzz, can the sequel Write Bros. 2 meet its expectations?
There are a variety of themes in this album that peeps can relate to as R.E.A.L. brings out the emotions out of the listener. Tracks like “Reaching for the Stars” and “Rock It” express about success and never give up on your dreams while “It Only Gets Better” and “Come Up” brings out the stories of the early days of getting up in the game and the road to success only gets better by the day. The majority of the beats are done by one half of the group Volatile which blends really well. His beats keep heads nodding as he places the drums and kicks well. “Give em a Show” brings up the energy at any concert; you will see peeps showing love on stage.
Other producers in this project did not lose the consistency of the album which is definitely a good thing. The hard drum pattern in the beginning of the J57 track “American Dream” brings the musical chemistry to another level with R.E.A.L featuring Moses Rockwell and the songstress Emmy while the piano infused “Come Up” produced by The Kamen Biz shine perfectly with the hip hop duo trade blow for blow. This track brings out the beast out of Lava and Volatile lyrically. Volatile production is refreshing with as mentioned the piano sound on the track “Reaching for the Stars” with the Rakim influenced it’s been a long time while “Party In the Summer” brings out the summer out of the fans while “Out Here” both Lava and Volatile trade verses on the struggles out in the streets thinking of ways to bouncing out of the rough conditions and the personal summer rotation radio friendly track “Feel Good Music” is a perfect musical chemistry track that brings out the good energy; definitely can play this track in the clubs and the rides strictly for the ladies with a grown gentleman bounce. NOW THAT’S HOW YOU MAKE MUSIC!!!!
Overall, this project is the truth which makes peeps more intrigued for that 585 music in a nutshell. Lava and Volatile have the musical chemistry compared to many dope duos in the game. These cats got the lyrical cadence and slick wordplay on this project. R.E.A.L is a duo to be reckoned with comprising of Volatile top notch production and lyrics to Lava delivery of tomahawk standstill and tiger woods today. Write Bros 2 is a refreshing album based on consistency and continues the flow from the first project. DEFINITELY A RECOMMEND!!!
Strong Tracks: “Reaching for the Stars”, “Come Up”, “Feel Good Music”, “American Dream”, “Out Here”, “Rock It”
