Bishop--------Rose Gold

Bishop-Rose  Gold-----(2014)
Artist: Bishop
Album: Rose Gold
Label: Independent
Producer: Solidified, 808 &Mishene City, Tut-Piece, Showtyme
Illustrious member Bishop born in the Bronx, bred in the Broward County section of Florida delivers the lyrics over solid beats. His first opus Roses Are Red was well received as he slayed the tracks with his lyrical persona. You can spot his charisma on tracks as he speaks relevance on various subject matters. With Rose Gold, Bishop continues the formula that works to his advantage.
Illustrious producer Solidified handles the majority of the album and knows how to cater to Bishop’s lyrical cadence. The album starts off with an old school feeling Son Rise where he shines well with a cool bouncy beat which leads into his previous single A.G.E. (All Gold Everything) which is one of the strong tracks where Bishop spits his venom about the night life on the high energized beat. The album stays on the hot not with a marching sounding beat towards Ill fellas where Bishop bodies this track leading fans to want to hear more of the Mafioso-esque street flow. Rap Lord is an experimental fast tempo track where Bishop controls the track while the relationship track Pieces of a Man where Bishop puts his storyline rhymes to the test where females do dirty in the relationship; this track Bishop laced the beat well with the guitar sample that fits well with Bishop.
The albums continues on the right foot started with the piano beat which leads to the horns infused Poison Ivy inspired by Nino Brown’s skit in the middle where Bishop slayed this track about moving forward from the ladies. King Me reflects about envy which Bishop claims jealousy is the devil’s work. The end of the album fits well with Son Set and Mine of Matter sums up the project with a great assist from See Francis
Rose Gold is a solid album which less guest appearances and the production is pretty solid.  A few fillers which were good such as Legend of the Fall that had a cool laid back golden era beat and drum pattern and an evening gone wrong with a female on Sinderella that fits the theme of the album but were not the highlight tracks. Bishop has a poetic flow that has the listener ears glued to his music. For the most part, Rose Gold caters to the listeners which balance the 90’s golden era with a contemporary vibe. This album is worth listening to without a disappointment.
Strong Tracks: “Son Rise”, “A.G.E.”,” Ill Fellas”, “Pieces of a Man”, “Poison Ivy”, “Son Set”
